Dolphin on mac doesnt let me configure keys

i am indeed using the latest version of dolphin input/0/Logitech dual action it says under device and it gives me no other options for logitech. any additional help would be appreciated. I would really like to get some help with this, I just ripped Paper Mario and the thousand-year door as well as NFS underground and was really looking forward to some retro gaming that isn't just more mean bean machine on Genesis+. If it wont let you set the key bindings, look in that Device drop-down and see if theres another Logitech gamepad thing in that list.

I have set up the inputs to be recognized as an original GCN controller (I would like to be able to change the default controls to be slightly closer to the original arrangement but it won't even let me do that) as I had done with the Windows version previously, however it seems the emulator doesn't want to recognize my keyboard even though it shows up in the list. I have tested this by wiping my hand across every single button during the 'press any button to continue' screen, with no response from the emulator. Upon launching an emulation I find that none of my keyboard buttons do anything at all. (Easiest way to find it is open Finder and hit these keys Shift+Command+G. On your Desktop, select Finder>Empty Trash). (Go to Applications folder and drag Dolphin file into the trash. I'm having an issue on my Macbook, however. Mac users dont have a set term for it, but macOS refers to them as Applications. I recently acquired the Dolphin emulator on my Macbook and having used the Dolphin emulator on an older model Asus i know the emulator works well and accepts keyboard controls.
